The padded support is designed to distribute the weight of your kayak/paddleboard across a total span of 32 inches, spreading the load as opposed to having the kayaks rest solely on the aluminum framework.
We strongly recommend the padded support for two-person kayaks and kayaks over 60 lbs. Marine-grade webbing and nylon strapping are used, all of which are UV and water/moisture resistant.
