Collection: Search Lights

Search lights for boats are powerful lighting systems that are used to illuminate a wide area of the water, allowing the operator of the boat to see other boats, buoys, and other obstacles at a distance. These lights are typically mounted on the bow or stern of the boat and can be controlled from the helm or bridge.

There are different types of search lights available for boats, including:

  • Halogen search lights: These lights use a halogen bulb to produce a bright, white light that can be seen from a distance. They are relatively inexpensive, but the bulbs have a shorter lifespan and consume more power than other types of lights.

  • LED search lights: These lights use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to produce a bright, white light that is energy-efficient and has a longer lifespan than halogen bulbs. They are more expensive than halogen lights, but they save energy and last longer.

  • Xenon search lights: These lights use a xenon arc bulb to produce a bright, white light that is similar in intensity to halogen lights, but with a longer lifespan. They are more expensive than halogen lights, but the bulb lasts longer and consumes less power.

  • Infrared search lights: These lights emit infrared radiation and are used for night vision purposes and can only be seen by special equipment.

When choosing a search light for a boat, it is important to consider the size of the boat, the intended use of the light, and the available power supply. It is also important to choose a light that is rated for use in marine environments, as regular lights may not be suitable for the harsh conditions found on boats.
